HDR (High Dymanic Range) Images

I just read about HDR images, where you take three different exposures of the same setting and combine them using HDR software (or apparently, Photoshop CS2). It will pull the best detail in dark areas from one exposure and that from light areas of another exposure. It’s taking advantage of bracketing in a whole new way.

I’m still reading about it and hope to try out my own soon. Here’s a photo from Flickr using the method.. amazing comparison between the sky and the rink. Great job, mazhewitt!

i wonder if taking the photos, keeping the mid-range as a central layer, then using the /- 1 layers as multiply/screen…hmmmmm….cool stuff!
